The start and finish are in the Bois de Vincennes, and the 21.097 km loop takes you straight into the heart of Paris. After the first kilometres among the trees you head towards Bastille, pass the Hôtel de Ville, run alongside the Seine and thread through the streets of the Marais, with crowds and music almost all the way. The course is flat and fast, with a few narrow stretches and underpasses: right for a first half marathon and for chasing a personal best. March in Paris is cool, with roughly 3-6 degrees early on and 10-12 in the middle of the day, a chance of light rain and some wind. Coach's tip: throwaway gloves, a controlled start in the park and steady pacing from the tenth kilometre.
Friday: arrival in Paris, check-in at the Ibis Paris Porte de Clichy, right next to the metro, and a first hello to the KiRun staff, who explain how to get around. Saturday: race number collection with our team, an easy shakeout run with the KiRun coach, free time in the city and the pre-race briefing with KiRun assistance on site, covering kit, pacing and start logistics. Sunday: breakfast at the hotel, metro ride out to the Bois de Vincennes, race, then the KiRun meeting point after the finish for group photos in your KiRun vest. Monday: breakfast, a free morning for one last walk and the journey home. Three nights, bed and breakfast, from arrival to the day after the race.
Paris is reached by air from Italy, with direct flights or one stop depending on your departure airport; the main gateways are Charles de Gaulle and Orly, both linked to the centre by public transport. You can book the flight yourself and send us the details, or ask us to arrange it: everything is explained in the 'The flight' section. In the city the metro is the simplest option, and the hotel sits next to a station, so you need neither taxis nor a car. The Bois de Vincennes is served by line 1, as far as the Château de Vincennes terminus; on race morning it is wise to set off early and travel together with the KiRun staff. Otherwise, Paris is a city best walked.
Is the race number really guaranteed? Yes, the package includes a guaranteed number at a cost of 75 €, to be added to the price. Can I still book? The package is sold out: write to us and we will let you know as soon as places for the next edition open. Can I bring a non-running companion? Yes, with the companion rate without a race number: just ask us for the price. What happens if I get injured before departure? Basic medical expenses cover is included, while the cancellation policy, at 25 € extra, covers trip cancellation for injury and illness up to the day of departure. When do I pay? When you book we will confirm the deposit and the balance deadline.
