A single flat, fast loop through the centre of Copenhagen, taking in the city districts, the canals, Christiansborg and the parks, with start and finish at Islands Brygge. In May the weather is cool and the Danish crowds are among the warmest in northern Europe. An ideal course for a first sub-three or sub-four, in a city you can easily explore by bike or on foot.

A single loop of 42.195 km starting and finishing at Islands Brygge, on the canal facing the city centre. The course is flat and steady: it runs through Copenhagen's neighbourhoods, follows the canals, passes Christiansborg and cuts through the city parks, on good tarmac with mostly wide bends. There are no climbs worth mentioning, so you can hold one rhythm from the first kilometre to the last. In May temperatures range from 7-9 degrees in the morning to 14-16 by midday, with cool air, possible wind off the sea and the odd short shower. Coach's advice: dress in layers while you wait, start two or three seconds per kilometre slower than target, and stay in a group on the exposed stretches.
Friday: arrival in Copenhagen, hotel check-in and bib collection with our staff, who also explain the logistics of the start area and where to find gels and any last purchases. Saturday: group shakeout run with the KiRun coach along the canals, free time to see the city on foot or by bike, and pre-race briefing at the KiRun desk in the hotel, covering clothing, pacing and warm-up. Sunday: early breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the start at Islands Brygge, race, and the KiRun meeting point after the finish to share how it went. Monday: breakfast, check-out and journey home, or an extra night if you want one more day in the city.
Copenhagen is reached from Italy by air, with direct flights or one connection depending on your departure airport. Kastrup airport sits a few kilometres from the centre and is linked by metro and train, with frequent services and tickets available at the station. Around town you move easily on foot, by metro and S-tog, or by bike: cycle lanes are everywhere and hire is straightforward. The hotels we propose are in central, well-connected areas, so getting to Islands Brygge on race morning is quick even by public transport. Our staff will show you the best route from the hotel to the start during the pre-race briefing.
Is the bib really guaranteed? Yes, while the KiRun allocation lasts; the marathon entry costs 110 € and is added to the package. What is the difference between Smart and Premium? Smart includes a 3* hotel, the KiRun group training plan and a tutor during your preparation; Premium adds a 4* hotel, an e-meeting with our technical coach and a pre-race briefing with the tutors. Can I bring a non-running companion? Of course, there is a companion rate without a bib: just ask us for it. What if I get injured before departure? The 19 € insurance covers trip cancellation for injury and illness up to the day of departure. When do I pay? At booking we tell you the deposit and the balance deadline.
