The Copenhagen Half is one of the fastest in the world: a flat, flowing course through Frederiksberg, the old town and the canal districts, with crowds that turn the race into a party. It is run in September, in cool dry weather, and is part of the SuperHalfs circuit. If you are chasing a half marathon PB, everything is here: wide roads, hardly any climbs and flawless organisation.
For the 2026 edition we chose the Wakeup Borgergade, a modern, minimalist hotel in the heart of Copenhagen, a short walk from Amalienborg Palace, Nyhavn and Strøget: functional rooms with free Wi-Fi, 24-hour front desk, breakfast room and lounge, ideal for exploring the city on foot. The hotel for the 2027 edition will be confirmed when registration opens, with the same criteria: central location and simple race-morning logistics. Contact us for higher category hotels.
The 2027 formula follows the KiRun Smart package of previous editions: 2 or 3 nights with bed and breakfast, KiRun on-site assistance, KiRun tank top and training plan (you can train with the KiRun group, send us your feedback, the results of the tests we will suggest, your questions and any information you need to enjoy this experience with peace of mind; programme available only in Italian). Final composition and prices will be published when registration opens.
Guaranteed bib with the KiRun package, official tour operator of the SuperHalfs circuit, while the KiRun allocation lasts. The 2027 bib price will be announced when registration opens.
The flight is not included
Available on request: the amount and room types for the 2027 edition will be confirmed when registration opens.
KiRun is the official tour operator of the SuperHalfs circuit
Twenty-one kilometres built for speed: the course is flat, with long straights, wide bends and smooth tarmac. You run through Frederiksberg, the historic centre and the neighbourhoods along the canals, an urban loop that mixes broad avenues with glimpses of water, while the Danish crowd keeps the noise up along most of the route. September weather helps: early morning readings sit around 10-12 degrees and rise to 16-18 in the middle of the day, with dry air and the chance of light rain or a breeze off the sea. Coach's tip: keep the first three kilometres just under target pace, use the straights to settle your stride, and take every drink station in the second half.
Friday or Saturday, depending on whether you choose two or three nights: arrival in Copenhagen, check-in at the hotel and bib collection with our staff, who also explain how the start area works. Saturday: an easy shakeout run with the KiRun coach, a few slow kilometres around the lakes and the centre, then free time to explore on foot and the pre-race briefing at the KiRun desk in the hotel, covering kit, pacing and Sunday logistics. Sunday: early breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the start, race, then meet the KiRun team after the finish to share how it went. Monday: breakfast and journey home, or an extra night in the city.
Copenhagen is reached by air from Italy, with direct flights from the main cities or one connection depending on your departure airport; the flight is not included in the package, as stated in the 'The flight' section. Kastrup airport lies about eight kilometres from the centre and is linked by metro and train, with frequent services to the central station and the heart of the city. From there the KiRun hotel, centrally located, is a short walk or a couple of stops on public transport. Around town you get about best on foot or by bike: the hotel sits centrally, so race-morning logistics stay simple.
