The Valencia Marathon is the fastest race in Europe and one of the three fastest in the world: continental records and thousands of personal bests have fallen here. The reason is simple: a completely flat course, wide roads, gentle bends, perfect weather and crowds that fill every kilometre. The finish is unique: the blue carpet suspended over the water at the City of Arts and Sciences, with packed stands and the announcer calling your name. It is run on the first Sunday of December, when the season is over back home: the right race to close the year with the time you are chasing, or for a first marathon in a setting that helps. With KiRun you get a guaranteed bib, a hotel a few minutes from the start and our staff with you from Friday to Monday.

For an additional €399 you can have the premium programme: access to the VIP area right after the finish line, where your companion will be waiting for you, separate bag drop, medal engraving and bib collection at the dedicated desk. It also includes the KiRun group training programme, a KiRun tutor during your preparation, the KiRun race vest and soft shell jacket, and a personalised warm-up run with our tutors the day before the race.
A single 42.195 km loop starting and finishing at the City of Arts and Sciences. It crosses the city districts, the port and the Malvarrosa seafront, the old town with Plaza del Ayuntamiento and the avenues along the Turia gardens, the former riverbed turned into a park. Elevation gain is negligible, turns are wide and aid stations are frequent. In December temperatures go from 8-10 degrees at the start to 15-17 by midday, with little rain; near the sea there can be some wind. Coach's advice: a controlled start in the first 5 km, where the crowds make you run faster than planned, and care with fuelling from km 25 onwards.
Friday: arrival in Valencia, hotel check-in and bib collection at the marathon expo with our staff, who also point you to gels, the pasta party and merchandise. Saturday: group shakeout run with the KiRun coach along the Turia gardens, free time in the city and pre-race briefing at the KiRun desk in the hotel, with advice on kit, pacing and start logistics. Sunday: early breakfast at the hotel, walk to the start area, race, and KiRun meeting point at the finish to celebrate. Monday: breakfast and departure, or an extra night to enjoy Valencia at your own pace.
Valencia airport is 8 km from the centre, 25 minutes away by metro. There are direct flights from Milan, Rome, Bologna and other Italian cities, plus the option of the KiRun special flight from Milan Malpensa described under «The flight». In the city you move on foot, by metro and by bike: the hotel we propose is in the City of Arts and Sciences area, a few minutes from start and finish, so no transport is needed on race morning.
Is the bib really guaranteed? Yes, while the KiRun allocation lasts: once official bibs sell out, our package is the only way to run. Can I bring a companion who does not run? Of course, with the non-runner rate: ask us. Is there a 10K on the same day? Yes, the 10K is run on the marathon morning with the same finish: ask us about bib availability. What if I get injured before departure? The 19€ insurance covers trip cancellation for injury and illness up to the day of departure. When do I pay? At booking we tell you the deposit and the balance due date.
