It climbs toward the archaeological zone and the Via Julia<br \/>\nAugusta, taking the direct route to Mount Bignone (over 500 meters). The guided tour flanks<br \/>\nthe ruins of a necropolis of Roman origin, which convey a feeling of ghostly<br \/>\nimmobility in sharp contrast to the enchanting island of Gallinara in the background, a jewel set<br \/>\nin the sea.<br \/>\nThe guided tour continues to the Sanctuary of Madonna della Guardia, an ancient Marian shrine<br \/>\nwhose construction began in the 17th century, still a pilgrimage destination. Under the<br \/>\nvaults it is possible to find old farm tools, jars, presses, objects, which Nino collected over the<br \/>\nyears, and photos of olive trees, not to mention the unmistakable smell of olive processing.<br \/>\nOil processing has also, of course, had to adapt to EEC directives: that is why the old<br \/>\nmillstones remained only for display, to leave room for technology, today the protagonist<br \/>\nof oil production.Next to the Oil Mill there is also the Olive Oil Museum, strongly desired by the family<br \/>\nof the owners and entirely dedicated to the Oil Civilization: in these spaces you can see and touch<br \/>\nthe entire history of one of the oldest and most important jobs in the Liguria region.<br \/>\nToday the Museum is connected via an underground tunnel to the Oil Mill: thus a single<br \/>\nspace entirely dedicated to the world of oil and its production. Strolling through the streets of the old town, one savors the medieval atmosphere<br \/>\ncreated by the imposing Castel San Giovanni, which rises majestically to defend the city. Not to be<br \/>\nalso miss the other notable artistic testimonies, such as the Basilica of San Biagio, the ancient<br \/>\nConvent of St. Catherine, with its striking botanical garden, and the numerous palaces of the<br \/>\nRenaissance, including the Ricci Palace and the Brunenghi Palace. Such a rich and dense itinerary, you can<br \/>\nfind only by those who have real experience there…At the end of the tour of Finalborgo, you reach<br \/>\nanother jewel of medieval origins on the Ligurian Riviera: Noli. Noli is a wonderful town that stands by the<br \/>\nsea. From here, in fact, you can admire the fishing boats on the coast and enjoy the clean beach and<br \/>\nthe clear sea of the Ligurian Riviera. And, why not, take a refreshing dip.<br \/>\nThe last stop is a gastronomic stop for the preparation of two of the most important products of Ligurian gastronomy: farinata, a savory cake prepared with chickpea flour, and pesto.
