I decided to wait until August 31 to write these lines, because after all even though there are still 3 weeks to go, the last day of August is a bit of an unmistakable signal that we all perceive the end of summer…many say that after August 16 we already have that impression, but because of that in fact very often August 16 is the beginning of a new mini-summer made up of all those things that due to commitments, duties, or perhaps laziness we were not able to do before, and that we concentrate in those last two weeks.<\/p>\n
As time goes by, and with a few more miles on my legs and in my head, I have come to realize that certainly in this little summer we cannot overturn the defeats that 30-plus degree workouts have suffered at the hands of aperitifs on the beach. But at the end of the day, the difference between being passionate and being professional is that we with our passions have a chance to play a little, lose them and find them again….<\/p>\n
We in KiRun have two passions: travel and running, and during the summer, especially in the “little summer,” the former often absorbs everything and work commitments multiply, and we often find ourselves isolated from the world and caught for days at a time. Out there, however, something is moving, I am told, and next September 3 we will be at least 150 running facing the first test of our program, far apart in many cases, but bound by the common desire to engage in our sport, and to achieve important goals for ourselves, for once…just for us.<\/p>\n
For those who have decided, for the first time to join our community, welcome, you have made the right choice!
