The date for the 2024 Valencia Marathon is set for 1 December. This is the fortieth edition and, according to forecasts, there will be at least thirty thousand participants, all ready to beat the record obtained last year by the Ethiopian Kinde Atanaw Alayew, who ran the approximately forty-two kilometres in two hours, three minutes and fifty-one seconds. This is the sixth best time in the world, demonstrating that this marathon is one of the fastest in the world, and therefore also excellent for beginners. The start is scheduled for 8.30 a.m. and will take place from the spectacular location of the City of Arts and Sciences, before continuing through the heart of Valencia and the most picturesque places, including a huge 1,000-metre flush bridge that, this year, will give participants the impression of running on water. For those interested in participating, the price of the bibs is 85 euros (for the first twenty thousand registered), then it will go up to over one hundred euros. The groups will start every six minutes and there will be as many as nine starting boxes, from which you will start according to your bib number: yellow ones are for men under 2h 25′ and women under 2h 48′; green ones for all times under 2h 38′; blue bibs are for times under 2h 50′; orange ones for times over three hours; purple bibs for times under 3h 15′; pink bibs are for those running under three and a half hours; brown bibs are for times under 3h 46′; grey bibs are for times under four hours; and, finally, white bibs will be for everyone else. During the marathon, each runner will have a cloakroom service at the start and finish areas and, at kilometres 10, 20, 30 and 40, will be able to use the toilets. The route, as mentioned, will pass through a variety of landscapes, including the historical centre and scenic streets overlooking the sea, and will end at around 14.18, returning to the City of Arts and Sciences. Participants who will not be able to finish the race in time will have to hand in their bib number and use one of the accompanying vehicles. All those who finish the marathon in the stipulated time will receive an official medal.<\/p>\n
