The course crosses the Tromsø bridge and follows the fjord, with snow-capped mountains as the backdrop and cool temperatures, ideal for running. There are also a half marathon and a 10K. An experience more than a race: up there in June, night never falls.
The hotel
3 nights in a hotel - breakfast included - early breakfast on race day - assistance from KiRun staff during the entire stay.
Smart: From 990€ Airfare - 3* Hotel - KiRun group training programme, KiRun Tutor during preparation.

Premium: From 1399€ Airfare - 4* Hotel - KiRun group training programme, KiRun Tutors during preparation, e-meeting with our Federal coach, pre-race breefing and warm-up with our Tutors.
The course and the weather
The start and finish are in the centre of Tromsø, on the island of Tromsøya, and the route soon heads for the Tromsø bridge, the clearest climb of the day, before following the fjord with the Arctic Cathedral and snow-covered mountains on the Tromsdalen side. The rest is almost flat, on wide roads and good tarmac, with water beside you nearly all the way. In mid-June, above the Arctic Circle, it stays cool: around 6-8 degrees in the evening hours and up to 12-14 at the warmest point, with sea breeze and the odd shower. Coach's tips: one light windproof layer, thin gloves and a controlled pace on the bridge, where gradient and view distract you more than you expect.
The weekend programme
Thursday: arrival in Tromsø, check-in and first contact with the KiRun staff, who look after you throughout the stay. Friday: bib collection with our team, an easy group shakeout run with the coach along the fjord, and the pre-race briefing at the KiRun desk in the hotel, covering clothing, pacing and start logistics. Saturday: race day with the clock turned upside down, early breakfast included at the hotel, rest and light meals in the afternoon, then the race in the evening hours under the light of the midnight sun, with a KiRun meeting point at the finish to celebrate together. Sunday: breakfast, a last walk in town and the journey home, or an extra night to enjoy Tromsø slowly.
Getting there and around
Tromsø airport sits on the same island as the centre, a few kilometres from town and served by buses and taxis. From Italy you travel by air, with direct flights or one stop depending on your departure airport: the flight is included in the Smart and Premium options shown on this page, so we take care of tickets and connections. You will not need a car here: central Tromsø is compact and easy on foot, between harbour, shops and waterfront, and our staff show you how to reach the start area. City buses run across to Tromsdalen if you want to explore. Bring comfortable shoes and a waterproof jacket: Arctic weather changes quickly, even in June.
FAQ
Is the race entry really guaranteed? Yes, bibs are guaranteed and added to the package: 85 € for the marathon, 55 € for the half, 45 € for the 10 km. Can I choose a shorter distance? Yes, the half and the 10 km are run on the same day, so tell us your choice when you book. Can I bring a non-running companion? Of course, with the no-bib rate: just ask us for it. What happens if I get injured before departure? The 55 € insurance covers trip cancellation for injury and illness up to the day of departure. When do I pay? When you book we tell you the deposit and the balance deadline.
