These are our main excursions for the Paris Marathon.

Historic Paris: 35 pp Euro

– After breakfast meeting with guide and guided tour (using public transportation) of the historic city : the Ile de la Cité, the heart of Paris, the largest island on the Seine, with the exterior of Notre Dame Cathedral and the Palais de Justice, Place Vendòme, the Palais Royale, Place de l’ Opera, Place Vendome

Modern Paris: 35 pp Euros

– After breakfast, meet with guide ,and start the panoramic tour of the city (by public transportation), with its modern part. Starting with the Eiffel Tower (exterior), we will continue with the Des Invalides complex, The Champ de Mars and the Ecole Militaire and then the Etoile and Arc de Triomphe, and the Champs Elysées

Passages and covered galleries: 35 pp Euros

– Departure with guide and public transportation, for a tour of the most intimate and hidden Paris: you will enter the inner lobby of the Palais Royal; here your guide, through the history of the Palace will tell of the intrigues of the characters who inhabited it; one among them, the feared Cardinal Richelieu. You’ll relive the most salient moments of Alexander Dumas’ novel and his Three Musketeers; but most of all, he’ll let you relive the splendor of the Belle Epoque. The walk continues through the atmospheric Passages and Covered Galleries,….stradines covered with galleries during the nineteenth century by glass roofs, which soon became meeting places and to this day are very pleasant because of the variety of antique stores, workshops, artisans, old booksellers, bistros, and small stores of all kinds some of which have remained similar to their origins. The visit culminates at the Galeries Lafayette to admire its amazing dome

Montmartre: 35 pp Euros

– Departure by guide and public transportation, and transfer to the foot of Montmartre, stroll through the Pigalle district, home to the famous Moulin Rouge cabaret, and ascent to Montmartre Hill where, from the great white Basilica of the Sacred Heart, you can overlook the entire city with your gaze. Discovering Ibiza in the spring

Ibiza is a popular island for companies of travelers, especially young people, who want to spend their summer vacations having fun. But Ibiza is not just that. Its playful spirit characterized by an active and festive nightlife is only one of the many faces that distinguish this amazing place. In spring, in fact, the Isla shows its more romantic, natural and relaxing side. The months leading up to summer are the perfect opportunity to discover the true essence of Ibiza, enjoying long walks surrounded by enchanting landscapes, pampered by the mild climate and savoring the beauty of its territory in the disarming tranquility of total relaxation.
Perhaps these statements seem strange to you; after all, one hardly ever hears people speak of Ibiza in these terms, extolling the serenity it conveys. As you read this article, you will be forced to reconsider: we will take you on an overview among the must-see attractions that make this island particularly fascinating in the spring, and in all likelihood, by the time you come to the conclusion, you will have felt like packing your bags and leaving by heading for the Balearic Islands.
Eivissa: the upper town and its surroundings
Let’s get off to a great start by introducing you to the inimitable and impossible-to-overlook beauty of Eivissa. Its upper town, the Dalt Vila, crowned by a city wall, can be reached directly from the Old Market, and will welcome you with a truly impressive entrance that will catapult you back a few centuries. In addition to the monuments of historical and cultural interest (the upper town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999), such as the Plaza de la Catedral with its Santa Maria Cathedral, what is really immersive is the setting itself, with the narrow streets and houses decked out with perfectly manicured flowered balconies and the small squares that shelter behind hidden corners. You cannot fail to end this visit with a look from the top of the Baluardo de Sant Bernat. From here you can admire the boundless sea surrounding the neighboring island of Formentera.
If you are a romantic person, you will surely appreciate the light and delicate atmosphere in Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera, a small village located just north of Eivissa. The square, overlooked by the church of Santa Gertrudis, is characterized by delicate pastel colors that will embrace you in a mystical and suave atmosphere of tranquility, perfectly in tune with the spring season. If you want to take a tour of the town then, you’ll find yourself constantly turning your eyes from one side to the other to capture all the wealth of craft stores and varied art galleries.
The ancient towers: lookouts of the sea
Let’s continue by talking about the attraction that has now become a symbol of Ibiza’s history: the Torre de Savinar, which dominates the southwest coast. In the past it was conceived as a defensive structure, patrolling the sea on sight, looking for signs that would forewarn of approaching pirates. Its walls tell legends that seem to come alive as you climb the circular stone staircase inside the tower, which can be visited in its entirety. Following the steps, you will reach the top. From here you can bask in a breathtaking view of the turquoise waters.
As you exit, near the clearing where the ascent begins, you will come face to face with a very unusual curiosity: the Cueva Hippy. This is a cave, half-hidden among the rocks, inside which, over the succession of time, an incredible amount of objects of various kinds have accumulated. You can really find everything, mostly bottles, but also pillows, boxes, lamps, books. Each visitor can leave a mark of his or her past by contributing to enrich the Cueva with an object of his or her own; alternatively, he or she can simply write a little thought in the diary placed at the entrance.
An equally characteristic construction is the Torre de Ses Portes. We are still staying on the theme of towers, then, but the setting in which this second building is set is truly special, and in a sense reflects the very essence of a springtime Ibiza. Calm and tranquility pervade this natural landscape, which lends itself well to an exciting walk to the Spiaggia de Ses Salines, from which you can admire one of the Isla’s proverbial sunsets.
A jump into local life: the Mercadillo de Sant Jordi
For total immersion in Ibiza’s welcoming and sunny climate, a dip into local traditions is a must. One of the places that best expresses this spirit is definitely the Mercadillo de Sant Jordi. You can take a tour of the market every Saturday morning, at the town’s racetrack, and fill your eyes with the myriad colors of the stalls of local merchants who will delight you with their tales of island life as they sell secondhand items and clothing and even pieces of handicrafts. A must-visit if you want to take home with you a really special memento or buy a thought for someone waiting for you.
The unforgettable experience of Ibiza in spring.
We have come to the end of our presentation of Ibiza in its springtime guise. As you can see, it is a true idyll for those who love the outdoors, healthy physical exercise, the sweetness of the sea not yet red-hot from the sun, and the tranquility of a vacation away from the crush and overcrowding of tourists who, during the summer months, take the island by storm.
The distance from Italy is really small, thinking in terms of the time it takes to get there. The airports in our country offer direct connections, and in about an hour and a half you will have already reached your destination. From here you can also extend your vacation in search of contact with nature, reaching Formentera, another paradise for trekkers, in just 40 minutes by ferry.
Not to be underestimated, then, is the gastronomic experience that will accompany your stay and guide you to the discovery of genuine flavors. A true journey within a journey.
By now you’ll have convinced yourself that Ibiza is an island that holds a thousand surprises, to be remembered not only for the nightlife of the hot summer nights, but also for the impressive and unexpected beauty of its land and culture. A destination to be enjoyed in spring, which will provide unforgettable emotions.

KiRun Club House: Jan. 14, 2022 – Challenges begin

Having pinned down our goals for the spring ( and we invite you to send us yours ) and our continued preparation, we add little challenges to keep the smile and competitive spirit lit, at least with ourselves.

This week’s challenge comes to you straight from one of the workouts suggested in the program for the marathon (here you will find the tableTable_Ki_RUN_PSpring_2022 *) ,here is this week’s challenge:

1- unplug your gps 3 km before the end of your cross-country training, and check the average pace at which you ran. It will be your target pace
2 – restart the gps , and without looking at the pace run 3 km
3 – compare your 3 km pace with your goal pace
4 – post a photo and tag #kiruntravel
5 – 🙂

A 2022 of goals and challenges

Deciding to start our run in a very complicated 2021 , with a first part of the year made of cancelled and postponed events , travel restrictions and limitations, was the first challenge that we at KiRun decided to face. All the friends who follow us know exactly as we do that the way to reach our goals is made of sacrifice , commitment, application …in running even more than in other circumstances of life because in running you cannot hope for lucky circumstances or the most classic stroke of luck.
We have succeeded in reaching our goal for 2021 , we have overcome the first challenge , and started to color the streets of Italy and Europe orange , waiting for circumstances to allow us to retrieve the passport from the bottom of the drawer.

Sacrifice , commitment and application , are certainly not three offspring that sound particularly sweet side by side with what for almost all of us is a passion; and after all, as Coach Paolo says, there must be a reason why there is the game of soccer, the game of tennis , the game of almost everything…except the game of running…
Running is not a game, we know exactly that as we know the fulfillment we get from it and I am sure that each of us between the difficulties of the path and the joy of the finish line , knows exactly where our attitude lies.

Goals then, each in our own spirit and with our own goals, but goals to pursue for this 2022 as well. Goals to be achieved if you will , together with us at KiRun.

For 2022 we have planned a calendar of events that we can prepare together , and through our posts, the blog , and of course the podcast discover weekly.

Here you will find KiRun’s 2022 calendar ( KI-RUN_Corse_2022 (1) ); for some events we will organize a trip , in others we will meet at the start , in all cases whether you choose to prepare with us or otherwise, whether you decide to travel with us or on your own, tell us about your experiences as to that friend/friend with whom you would talk about running without ever stopping …
